Set Them Free

Okay first things first, Team Canada: Women just won GOLD in hockey tonight at the 2010 Vancouver Winter Olympics... was there ever any doubt?  WOOOOOOO HOOOOOOOO!!  Obviously, we fuckin' rock!

Okay now onto what I really wanted to talk about.  I'm sure everyone has now heard about the Killer Whale in SeaWorld that has killed a 40 year old female trainer.  Apparently this particular whale is very hard to train and has even killed someone before this incident.  Well people, all I have to say is what the hell did you expect?  It's a freakin' KILLER WHALE, not a little puppy dog.  The whale weighs 11,000 pounds and is 22 feet long.  Why do people continue to think that these animals belong in tanks and should preform childish and stupid tricks for people?  It's ridiculous!

I am and have always been a lover of whales.  I have been reading about them and studying them since I was about 5 years old.  I don't plan on working with them in my life, I just find them so interesting and so beautiful.  I even had a Killer Whale mural painted on my bedroom whale when I was a kid.  I am so sick and tired of seeing these amazing animals treated like circus acts.

Oh, and I also found out that the tank that housed the whale was only 35 feet deep!  Yeah, that is no where near deep enough for a 22 foot long whale.  Why, WHY do people feel the need to go into the wild and capture a giant animal, only to put it into a tank the that would be the equivalent to a bathtub to a person?  People are saying that since this whale cannot be trained and it has killed 2 people that it should be set back into the wild.  NO SHIT!  However, SeaWorld is apparently run by money hungry assholes.  They are wanting to keep the whale because if it successfully breeds with one of their female Killer Whales, the baby could be worth upwards of $10 million!  Hmmm, I guess human life means nothing to these people...

Anyways, I just hope that they release the whale into the wild, along with all of the other captive whales all over the world.  That won't happen though.  Some people just cannot put anything but money ahead of anything else.  It's really, really sad.

Eff...

I hate Dentists.

That's right, I hate them.  I hate everything to do with them.  As Kramer from Seinfeld would say, I'm a "rabid anti-dentite!"  I have had a fear of Dentists for as long as I can remember.  I just HATE that scraping noise that is made when they have that pick and are taking the plaque off or whatever they are doing.  It actually makes me feel nauseous.  The worst part is when the actual Dentist comes in and starts stabbing your molars to see if you have cavities.  Not only does it hurt, but the fear of him saying 'oh, you have a cavity' is paralyzing.  Well thankfully I didn't have any cavities (I've only had 2 from when I was about 12 years old), but I got the worst news of all.

I have to get my wisdom teeth out.  ALL 4 OF THEM!  F U Dentists!  I mean, they are coming in but they don't even hurt, so what's the problem?  I don't think I should have to get them removed unless they are causing severe pain and I can't even feel a thing right now.  Ugh I am so pissed off, not to mention terrified.  I have to go to Winnipeg next Tuesday to have a consultation with an oral surgeon.  He is going to x-ray my mouth and then make an appointment to get the teeth removed.  What the hell, why did God gives us wisdom teeth anyway if you are just going to have to have them removed and then have extreme pain afterwards?  I asked both my sisters about it because they recently had theirs removed, and Brittany-Ann said it hurt her for a few days, but Amanda-Dawn said that is was the worst pain she has ever felt in her entire life, even worse than when she broke her arm!  WHAT THE HELL!!

Jeff said I am being a wussy, but I am really scared.  I have never had surgery before, what if I go under and then I never wake up?  Oh man I am really scared.  I mean, everyone I know who has had their wisdom teeth out has turned out perfectly fine, but what if I am the one person who gets all screwed up?  :(

Gearing Up For A Busy Weekend

Happy Friday all!

This is going to be a pretty busy weekend for us.  Tonight we are going to Festival du Voyageur.  It's Winnipeg's big winter festival, they have it every year.  It's full of different booths, live music, live acts, huge ice carvings, and fun winter activities.  I hope this year is better than last years festival though.  Last year it was about -30°C and I had a HUGE allergic reaction to the cold due to my stupid Cold Urticaria.  I ended up taking some really strong allergy pills that made me really REALLY hyper for about an hour, and then I started to go down really fast and I almost fainted... twice.  Jeff had to practically carry me to the car and I was completely covered in hives except for my face.  It was the worst reaction I have ever had.  This year should be a bit better though.  I'm wearing my long john's and bringing Benadryl with me, so I'm all set!  Plus, it's only going to be around -10°C, so as long as I am not rolling around in the snow and I only spend about 10-15 minutes outside in between the warm booths, I should be okay.  Hopefully!

Tomorrow we are going back into Winnipeg to do some grocery shopping.  We are also going out for dinner for Valentine's Day.  I know, Valentine's Day is on Sunday, but we are not going back into the city for a third day in a row.  It's a 1.5 hour drive to get there, and that is just too much.  On Sunday I think we are just going to make a romantic dinner at home.  I think tomorrow we are going to The Olive Garden for dinner.  I don't really like it but Jeff loves it so I let him choose this time seeing as how I chose Red Lobster for our anniversary dinner a few weeks ago.  I'll just have a salad or something.

I am also signing up for my next course this weekend and I am so excited for it!  I was going to take Business Website Development but they only teach you HTML (which I already know) and I basically know CSS too so it would be a waste of money to take that course.  I have decided to take Business Law instead.  I am really excited about it because it is basically all reading and writing essays and papers and stuff and I love doing that.  My last course, Bookkeeping and Accounting, was okay but it was all math and I HATE math.  This one should be more to my liking.  I'm just not to keen on the time period for it.  It starts on March 1st, and ends on August 31st!  That is 6 MONTHS!  It's because I'm taking it through distance education though.  If I were to live closer to the school and take it there it would only be 2 months.  I should have it done before 6 months though and you can take the exam whenever you feel like it.  I'm aiming to be done before July 1st.

Well I have to go get ready to go to the Festival.  Bye!
